Ajay Devgn, born as Vishal Veeru Devgan, is a well-known Indian actor, filmmaker, and producer working primarily in Hindi cinema. Famed as one of Bollywood's leading actors, he has appeared in over a hundred movies and earned many honors, such as four National Film Awards and 4 Filmfare Awards. In 2016, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian honor. Devgn made his acting debut with the romantic-action film *Phool Aur Kaante* (1991), a commercial success that catapulted him to fame. He subsequently starred in hit action movies such as *Jigar* (1992), *Suhaag* (1994), *Vijaypath* (1994), and romantic blockbusters like *Ishq* (1997) and *Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam* (1999). His highly praised performance in *Zakhm* (1998) earned him a National Film Award for Best Actor. Throughout the 2000s, Devgn delivered critically praised performances in films like *Company* (2002), *The Legend of Bhagat Singh* (2002), and *Omkara* (2006). His portrayal Bhagat Singh won him his second National Film Award for Best Actor. In the 2010s, he returned with big commercial hits such as *Singham* (2011) and *Golmaal Again* (2017). More lately, his movies *Tanhaji* (2020), *Drishyam 2* (2022), and *Singham Again* (2024) have set new box office records, with *Tanhaji* securing him another National Film Award. In besides acting, Devgn runs his film production house, Ajay Devgn FFilms, founded in 1999. He is wedded to actress Kajol, and they have a son and daughter together.
